WHAT
A dynamic, interactive week of entrepreneurial competition. Sixty select high school sophomores and juniors. A week in residence at Lake Erie College. Teams of future leaders hammering out action plans, analyzing market data, creating ads, expanding capital, honing small-group strategies, refining savvy decision-making skills. Energized teens living free enterprise.

That’s LAB. That’s Learning About Business. LAB is six days crammed with new relationships and skills: marketing, management, entrepreneurship, international business, time management, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution and much more. LAB is also 100-plus business pros who challenge, inspire, prod, frustrate and ultimately motivate young, talented, evolving minds to explore the world of free enterprise.

WHY
Learn life skills as well as business strategies. Develop and test your leadership skills. Face real-life challenges. Learn to think on your feet. Handle stressful situations. See what you’re made of. And all while you’re having fun and making new friends, some for life.

WHEN/WHERE
Sunday, June 16 to Friday, June 21, 2013 on the campus of Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio.

HOW MUCH
The majority of the cost of attending LAB is paid by our generous sponsors including companies, foundations, graduates, and individuals. While students are accepted on a full scholarship, a non-refundable registration fee is required upon acceptance into the program. The fee is forgiven in cases of hardship.

WHO
LAB only accepts applications from students who are currently completing their sophomore or junior year of high school.  A limited number of  applicants will be selected based on academic ability, leadership qualities, civic and community activities, educational/career plans, and counselor or teacher recommendations.

HOW
Download an application and return it to the LAB office by March 15, 2013. Students must complete all three parts (student, guidance counselor and teacher) in order to be considered.
